PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily expand a wire element wound in the shape of coil at a target position by inserting that wire element straightly into a catheter and constituting it so as to occupy the target position by being expanded when it is discharged from a catheter far end position to the target position. SOLUTION: An elastic wire is wound in the shape of coil and a coil wire 4 is formed while having a large diameter section 4a and a diameter section 4b which is made gradually narrow. The large diameter section 4a is expanded until it touches the wall of blood vessel 8, and the coil wire 4 is held at that position. When the coil wire 4 is inserted into the blood vessel 8, the narrow diameter part 4b is made flexible so as to enable guidance without damaging the blood vessel 8. The coil wire 4 is inserted almost straightly into the catheter and further extruded from the catheter to the target position in the blood vessel 8. At such a time, the large diameter part 4a expands, touches the inner wall of blood vessel 8 and holds that position. Thus, the coil wire can be easily expanded at the target position.
