PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease frictional resistance generated in a device for moving a printing head and also to improve the abrasion resistance of this device. SOLUTION: Printing elements 220 including a printing head 500 are advanced in parallel to a frame 202. Parallel advancing rod bearings 206 and 208 supporting the elements 220 such as a scanner and others so that they can move slidably along the frame 202 comprise central cores constituted of hardened stainless steel and abrasion-resisting coatings which coat the central cores. The parallel advancing rod bearings 206 and 208 come into slidable contact with a bearing pad assembly of the printing elements 220 respectively. Bearing pads of the bearing assembly contain tungsten carbide whereon diamond is stuck. |
