PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the positive electrode active material for lithium secondary battery, which can improve electronic conductivity and energy density of a battery, by adhering metal fine grains to a surface of the positive electrode active material. SOLUTION: This positive electrode active material desirably includes one kind selected among a group of LiCoO2 base, LiNiO2 base, and LiMn2 O4 base. Metal fine grains to be adhered to a surface of the positive electrode active material desirably include at least one metal to be selected among a group of Au, Pt, Ni and Al. Decomposition of the electrolyte is prevented by using the described positive electrode active material and the described metal fine grains. Electronic conductivity is given to the positive electrode active material by the metal fine grains. Since specific surface area of the metal fine grains is small, quantity of the binder at the time of forming electrode is reduced, and quantity of the electrolyte to be filled is reduced. As a result, energy density of a battery is improved. |
