PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reproduce the color of source image without depending on the luminance level of original image by setting a reference luminance level lower than the luminance level of prescribed color and simulating that reference luminance level as the prescribed color luminance level. SOLUTION: The luminance level to become a reference is set to a reference luminance level LW lowered rather than a reference luminance level FW. Namely, the luminance level of R image data on a white original gets almost equal with the reference luminance level LW. Besides, the luminance level of R image data in a fluorescent light emitting color exceeds the reference luminance level FW within a prescribed range but does not exceed a maximum value Lmax of dynamic range so that the information can be left without being deleted. When RGB data before color conversion are respectively defined as Rin, Gin and Bin, the Rin value is uniformly converted to the maximum value of dynamic range so as to be relatively weakened in dark direction, the Gin value is relatively strengthened in light direction and the Bin value is relatively weakened in dark direction. |
