PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the circuit size, to improve the interpolation accuracy and to keep the continuity of the output result in an interpolation method for a 3-dimension color space. SOLUTION: Eight grating point data in a unit cube are outputted from LUT memories 2Y, 2M, 2C with a high-order bit signal of a 3-dimension color space signal received by an input system G1; on the other hand, a comparison arithmetic section G5 compares the received 3-dimension color space signals; an output value space position decision section G6 determines a space coordinate; a division polyhedron selection section G8 selects a divided polyhedron; and a boundary face vicinity selection section G7 discriminates whether or not data are in existence in the vicinity of the boundary face of the division polyhedron based on the comparison result of the comparison arithmetic section G5. In the case that data are in existence in the vicinity of the boundary face, data correction processing sections 3Y, 3M, 3C correct the grating point data; the corrected grating point data are selected by selection sections 9Y, 9M, 9C based on the selection of the division polyhedron selection section G8; and the data are interpolated by interpolation arithmetic processing sections 4Y, 4M, 4C and the output data are obtained. |
