PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the shortening of the time required for cooking rice even when the rice is cooked just after washing thereof. SOLUTION: This method for cooking rice comprises starting a pregelatinizing and heating step before completing a hydrating step in the method for cooking the rice by making the hydrating step and the pregelatinizing and heating step continuous. Furthermore, the rice cooker comprises the first controlling means for carrying out the intense heating in response to the input of a signal for starting a rice cooking step, stopping the intense heating when the temperature detected by a detecting sensor attains the boiling temperature and carrying out a part of the hydrating step, the second controlling means for transferring the operation to the pregelatinizing and heating step with forced heating in response to the input of a signal for completing the controlling operation with the first controlling means and stopping the forced heating when the temperature detected by the detecting sensor attains a temperature to stop the forced heating and the third controlling means for performing the prescribed steaming heating in response to the input of a signal for stopping the forced heating. |
