PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a switching loss and electromagnetic interference and, further, reduce a counter-drive torque. SOLUTION: Switching device main parts Ta-Tc of the main switching devices SW1-SW3 are successively closed and currents are applied to windings 2a-2c successively to turn the rotor of a switched reluctance motor. Before the switching device main parts Ta-Tc are opened, a resonance switching device Tr is closed and turns the charging characteristics of a resonance capacitor Cr into reverse characteristics. Currents supplied by the resonance capacitor Cr charged in the reverse characteristics are applied to feedback diodes Da-Dc through reverse device diodes Dba-Dbc. While the currents are applied to the feedback diodes Da-Dc in such a manner as above described the switching device main parts Ta-Tc are opened in the states that the applied voltages are zero. After the switching device main parts Ta-Tc are opened, the currents applied to the windings 2a-2c are quickly attenuated by a resonance phenomenon produced by the resonance capacitor Cr and a winding inductance. |
