PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture an electrode group for an angular battery having its improved battery capacity per unit volume of a battery can case by disposing a porous insulation plastic between sheet-shaped positive and negative electrodes and winding it in a flat shape, and compressing and molding this electrode group at high temperature before inserting it into a can case. SOLUTION: A elongated sheet-shaped positive electrode 2 of about 37 mm in width and about 435 mm in length and an elongated sheet-shaped negative electrode 1 of about 39 mm in width and about 500 mm in length are laminated via a porous insulation plastic sheet 3, wound in multiple number by a sectional area elliptic winding core, and employed as a flat electrode group. For the porous plastic sheet 3, PE (melting point: about 130 deg.C), PP (melting point: about 160 deg.C), and PP/PE/PP laminate structure or the like are employed. Before inserting this flat electrode group into a can case, under temperature environmental below a melting point of a porous plastic sheet 3, the group is compressed and molded at a high temperature by hydraulic shaft heat press. Thereby, an electrode group having its improved charge and discharge recycle efficiency of an angular battery is provided. |
