PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to surely read out a bar code even when a bar code display area is small. SOLUTION: A CCD camera 10 is arranged oppositely to a covered pipe 2 on which a bar code 3 divided into two parts in the peripheral direction is partially displayed and a reflector 12 is obliquely arranged in parallel with the pipe 2. A rotary motor 14 is connected to the reflector 12 so that the angle of the reflector 12 can be changed. The upper area A of the pipe 2 is directly read out by the camera 10 and the area B of the covered pipe side part is indirectly read out as the virtual image of the reflector 12. Consequently the bar code 3 can be read out from either one of the areas A, B. |
