摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To process decoding at a high speed. SOLUTION: Decoded image data from an adder 5 are fed to an image memory 20. A write address generating circuit 23 generates a memory address where an in-MB vertical position V and an in-MB horizontal position DH of image addresses are reversed in the case of writing the decoded image data. Furthermore, a lowest bit DH1 of the in-MB horizontal position DH is used for a band changeover address BS. Thus, image data by one macro block are written in one bank if the image memory 20 and macro blocks adjacent in the horizontal direction of an image are written in different banks. Thus, one bank changeover at writing is only once and bank changeover at reading requires 4 times at maximum, thus allowing high speed access.
