摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealed lead-acid battery of high energy density without losing a service life performance by applying a hydrophilic treatment to an acid-resistant and oxidation-resistant sheet. SOLUTION: An acid-resistant and oxidation-resistant sheet 3 of ABS resin having circular through-holes 2 is immersed in a hydrophilic nonionic surface activation agent and then dried. Lead and lead alloy sheets 1 are arranged on both sides as intermediate layers, thereby preparing a positive electrode substrate. This positive electrode substrate is filled with a paste positive electrode activation material 6 and subjected to an aging and chemical formation processes, thereby preparing a positive electrode 7. A paste negative electrode of the same size as the positive electrode 7 is faced thereto via a separator made of a glass fiber mat, and housed in a case as a unit cell. Plastic surface is subjected to a hydrophilic treatment through surfactant adsorption, white a plasma etching method or the like is available and a method capable of maintaining hydrophilic properts over a long time is preferable.
