PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size, to simplify the constitution and to reduce the production manhour for the optical circuits of both wavelength multiplexing and division parts by changing the internal constitution of an array waveguide lattice module and taking out the monitor light necessary for a wavelength multiplexing system within the array waveguide lattice module. SOLUTION: The (n) types of signal beams λ1 to λn are inputted from an input port 101 of a wavelength division optical circuit after undergoing the wavelength multiplexing. These input signal beams are divided into signals λto λn by an array waveguide lattice 131 in terms of the wavelength and outputted to the signal optical output ports 141 to 14n and the monitor optical output ports 181 to 18n of an array waveguide lattice module 111. The ports 141 to 14n output the interference signals of the main interference order of the lattice 131, and the ports 181 to 18n output the interference signals of the order next to the main interference order of the lattice 131 and then reach the monitor photodetectors 171 to 17n respectively. In such a constitution, the conventional (n) pieces of optical couplers can be omitted and a compact optical circuit is obtained. |
