ELECTRIC CONNECTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric connector to reduce its tendency to develop cracks of its housing around its contact posts under a high temperature environment and to prevent the housing from being disconnected from the contact posts when the housing receives external force. SOLUTION: This electric connector 10 is composed of a header housing 12 and multiple contact posts 20 that are retained each in a cavity of the housing 12. Each of the contact posts 20 has an expanded part 26 near the second surface 16 of the housing 12. Each of the expanded parts 26 has a width greater than that of the corresponding cavity so as to prevent the housing 12 from being disconnected from the contact posts 20 in installing the contact posts 20 into a circuit board.
