The invention relates to a continuous process for storing beer after the main fermentation, in which process the freshly prepared beer is conducted, after the removal of the yeast and a heating treatment, to a bioreactor which is filled with carrier in which the yeast has been immobilized, with the carrier principally consisting of wood particles. The invention also relates to a continuously operated storage reactor which consists of a vertical, column-shaped flow-through reactor which contains one or more filters, intermediate partitions or flanges and which is principally filled with carrier which consists of wood particles in which the yeast has been immobilized.
