The device for separating tubular sections of a sheath having transverse perforation lines with a traction and retaining mechanism and a tearing mechanism downstream of the endless conveyor belts (7,8). These transport belts of the tearing mechanism are driven during separation at a high speed. An installation (9,10) is located between the traction and tearing mechanism. The installation activating the tearing is constituted by a cylinder (9) located on the side of the sheath. An elastic envelope (10) and a pressure roller on the opposite side of the sheath rotate about an axis parallel to the cylinder axis. These are pressed during passage of a transverse perforation line to commence the tearing.
