The disclosed layout instrument includes a pair of members (36'', 48'') arranged together to form an L at a right angle. The unique variation to this arrangement is that the two opposing ends of the L are also permanently attached to a third member (60'') changing the shape from an L to the shape of a triangle. By permanently attaching the members misalignment is avoided and accuracy is assured and maintained. The members are configured to slide with one another at the pivot point of the L and simply pivot at their opposite ends about their pivot points connecting the third leg, creating a closed triangle. |
