PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid light surge produced from an optical preamplifier even when an amplifier with high power is employed for the optical preamplifier of an optical receiver to release a limit of the scale or a limit of the throughput. SOLUTION: In the optical network, where a plurality of nodes each consisting of an optical transmitter 11 and an optical receiver 12 are cross- connected by an optical switch 13 under the control of a switch control section 14, the switch control section 14 controls the optical switch 13 for connecting one of the optical transmitters 11 that output an optical signal to the optical receiver 12 at all times through the changeover within a prescribed time. |
