PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information storage/read device which excels in its operability, can reduce its communication cost and also can deal with not only the voice data but the image data. SOLUTION: An information reception part 105 accumulates the data received from a computer network via a computer network connection interface 101 in an information storage part 106. An index production/retrieval part 103 produces an index for the data accumulated in the part 106. When an information acquisition request interpretation part 102 receives a data retrieval request from the computer network, the part 103 retrieves the data designated by the received request form the index and sends the retrieval result to the requester. If the part 102 receives a data transmission request, an information transmission part 104 reads the data designated by the request out of the part 106 and sends the data to the requester. |
