PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration in the resolution while keeping the gradation by converting an output level of an image signal acquired by an image signal acquisition means in response to a position of each pixel and a value of each pixel and providing an output. SOLUTION: An output of a conversion table T0 rises rapidly while a pixel density is thin and its final output is made stable when the density goes denser. This is because the output of the conversion table T0 at a highlight density represents the density of 4 pixels corresponding to the conversion tables T0-T3. When the pixel density reaches a gray density, the output of the conversion table T0 decreases once and rises slowly more than the rising of the output of the T0 at the highlight density. This is because the output of the conversion table T0 at the gray density represents the density of 2 pixels corresponding to the conversion tables T0, T1. When the pixel density reaches a shadow density, the output of the conversion table T0 decreases once and rises slowly more than the rising of the output of the T0 at the gray density. This is because the output of the conversion table T0 at the shadow density represents the density of 1 pixel corresponding to the conversion table T0. |
