PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device capable of suppressing the generation of a streak on an image by providing the function of preventing the flocculation of toner, with a simple constitution and a developing method using the developing device. SOLUTION: The developing device is provided with a developing roller 12 provided in parallel with a photoreceptor 1 and a blade 15 which is abutted on the outer periphery of the developing roller 12, to execute control for making the quantity of nonmagnetic developer 6 carried onto the developing roller 12 a fixed thickness. A large number of magnetic materials are arranged along the outer periphery of the developing roller 12 and for the blade 15, an elastic material being sensitive to the magnetic material is used. Further, the developing device has an abutting force changing means for varying the abutting force of the contact surface of the blade 15 with the developing roller 12, by the mutual work of the magnetic materials and the blade 15, in accordance with the rotation of the developing roller 12. The layer thickness of the nonmagnetic developer 6 is controlled by the blade 15, while the abutting force of the contact surface of the blade 15 with the roller 12 is changed by the mutual work of the magnetic materials and the blade 15, by the rotation of the roller 12. Thus, the nonmagnetic developer 6 is stuck to the surface of the photoreceptor 1 on which an electrostatic latent image is formed to attain development. |
