PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the optical branching waveguide and optical waveguide circuit which are easily manufactured, small-sized, and low-cost. SOLUTION: On a substrate 11, two 1st and 2nd linear light guides 12 and 13 are formed crossing each other at a specific angle, a groove 14 which is at a specific angle to the light guides and deeper than the 1st and 2nd light guides 12 and 13 is formed including the intersection area of the 1st and 2nd light guides 12 and 13, and into the groove 14, an optical element 15 having a partially reflecting and partially transmitting function for transmitting and guiding part of incident light guided in the 1st light guide 12a to the 1st light guide 12b and also reflecting and guiding part of the incident light to the 2nd light guide 13 is inserted including the areas of intersection of at least the groove 14 with the 1st and 2nd light guides 12 and 13. |
