PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain flexible correspondence to an FP function for protecting right such as a copyright to multi-media information and to resultantly attain a practical information providing service system by setting up and changing the FP function in accordance with the using state of an information provider side request or the like in a card type information receiver. SOLUTION: The information receiver 1 is a device for receiving multi-media information provided through a computer network or a digital broadcasting network and especially using a detachable card module 10. The receiver 1 has an FP processing module for executing FP processing for padding specific information capable of reproducing received information in a concealed state. The card module 10 is provided with a function for loading down an FP processing program transmitted from an information provider 3 in a memory and transferring the program to the module 14.
