PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbon current-collecting shoe for detecting damages, being equipped with a damage- or abrasion-detector applicable to different power supply, a low-voltage power supply in particular and consequently applicable to high current and high-speed trains without sensing simple cracks. SOLUTION: This current-collecting shoe consists of an abrasion band 2 provided with a hollow member 5 in a longitudinal airtight chamber connected to a detector, which makes a pantograph retreat before a power transferring means is excessively damaged. The longitudinal hollow member 5 is structured with an airtight tube member, made of a material having at least the same conductivity with that of graphite, so that it can be thermally stable up to at least 400 deg.C, its hardness is less than 4 in Mohs' scale of hardness, and it can play a role of a conductor when power is transferred from the abrasion band 2 to a locomotive. |
