The toilet block is a closed space (1) which is accessible to the public with a washing area (10) separated from the toilet cubicle by a wall (8) with an opening (6). The cubicle has a toilet bowl (4) which moves between a retracted position where it is retracted into the washing area through the opening for cleaning and the second position when the bowl extends horizontally into the cubicle through the opening so that it can be used. The bowl is positioned between two opposite walls of the cubicle (12, 13) along an axis (X1) and the walls are respectively a distance (L1, L2) from the bowl. The cubicle also has a second washing area (11) separated by a wall with a second opening (7) with a second mobile toilet bowl (5). There is a selection mechanism to allow the user to choose which toilet bowl (s)he wishes to use and a control mechanism (18) to position the appropriate toilet bowl for use.
