In this publication a sealing device for a container is described, which device with the help of a U-shaped locking piece presses the unsealable lips of a container together and which device has a locking piece which supports itself to a lower side or lower and upper sides at a bending point of the lips of a container and therefore prevents the sealing device from rising upwards from top of the lips.
