Joining material strips

In a method for joining two material strips (1,1'), at least one of which consists of a non-weldable material: (a) a seam (2,2') is formed along the desired connecting line on each non-weldable strip (1,1') using a cord (10,10') made at least partly of a weldable material; (b) the strips are positioned on each other so that the seams lie on top of each other; and (c) the cords are then welded together. When only one of the strips (1,1') is of a non-weldable material the cord seam (2,2') is formed along the non-weldable strip and this strip is placed against the other, weldable strip and the cord (10,10') welded to the latter. A welded connection between two material strips (1,1') is also claimed.
