Heating system for vehicle

The heating system for a vehicle coolant circuit has a microwave element to heat the coolant in a reactor. The heated coolant circulates through the engine and/or through the interior heaters in the vehicle. The microwave heating is switched on after the engine has been started, to minimise drain on the vehicle battery. The heating can be either with a continuous throughflow of coolant through the reactor, or set amounts of coolant can be heated and switched into the coolant circuit by control valves each side of the reactor.
