The letter stream formation method has each individual letter passed between side guides for its longitudinal edges, with each preceding letter retained temporarily until the following letter overlaps it sidewards by a defined length. Both letters are then transported together with the preceding letters until the last letter reaches the defined position (2) for overlap by the next sheet.
