A cutting tool comprises an indexable tri. angular or square insert 13 adjustable along the base 14 of a slot by a member 19 movable axially at an angle to the base. The sleeve member 19 is adjusted by a screw 21 and locked by a screw 25. The insert is clamped by a wedge 15 engaged by a screw 16 having threads of opposite hand. In a modification, the insert 13, Fig. 6 (not shown), engages a separate part 31. In a further modification, a facing tool 32, Fig. 7 (not shown), has an insert 33 adjusted by the member 19, and may be clamped by means as described in Specification 976,597. Three such inserts 33 may be incorporated in one tool 34, Fig. 8 (not shown). |
