The road roller has a profiled roller body (2) with smooth cylindrical mantle surface sections (5a-5d) in axial zones. The remaining roller surface zones (4a-4c) have a reduced cross-section. The zones (4a-4c) with a reduced cross-section are flat, and are around the whole roller body (2), alternating with the smooth mantle sections (5a-5d).
