Anxiolytics containing as the active ingredient substances selected from the group consisting of [2,3-d]thienopyrimidine derivatives represented by general formula (I), pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, and hydrates and solvates of the same. In said formula R<1> and R<2> each independently represents hydrogen, halogeno or C1-6 alkyl; R<3> and R<4> each independently represents hydrogen or C1-6 alkyl; R<5> represents hydrogen, C1-6 alkyl, etc.; Ar represents optionally substituted phenyl, 2-thienyl or 3-thienyl; and n is an integer of 2 or 3.
