The joystick produces setback force by movement from a starting position by spring components, with damping of a backward movement of the joystick in a starting position. The damping devices (44) have a non-linear damping characteristic line. They provide relatively small damping for large movements of the joystick (10) and relatively large damping for small movements of the joystick. They have an symmetrical characteristic line in relation to the starting position. The damping devices contain a cylinder (46) with a damping medium, forming a throttle (56), in which a damping body (60) coupled with the joystick has a variable cross-section over its length, which with the throttle of the cylinder forms a stroke-dependent throttle cross-section. The throttle is formed by a cylinder ring (56) in the central area of the cylinder (46).
