A multi-layered plate consists of two or more glued wooden plates located alternatingly crossways over one another and turned through 90 degrees. With this type of plate also an additional cover veneer is applied to the lower and/or upper side of the plate. To produce the plate, the small bars and/or strips are provided with glue on one side and by means of a frame press via a negative form and through a positive form are pressed together in wave-formation. The pressed material is held under tension until the glue hardens. After hardening, the predetermined wave shape no longer warps due to the inherent tension of the pressed-together small bars and strips.
