Disclosed is a device for detecting, without contact, a target such as a vibrating body or cyclic movement, in order to determine its position or condition. Said device comprises a transmitter (2) which transmits a signal at a given frequency, and a receiver (2) of the echo of this signal on the target to be determined. The transmitter and receiver (2) are constituted of the same single part; the signal transmitted and the echo received defined the standing-wave ratio. The device further comprises means (3 to 5) for analyzing the standing-wave ratio. The invention can be used to measure the transmission belt tension, or the engine speed of an electric-ignition engine, etc. |
