<p>An impact and dust-free packaging container 10, which is used to receive a motor-driven shredder 11, is usable in conjunction with the shredder 11 after it is no longer required for packaging purposes. The packaging container 10 also includes content-supporting parts 23 for tightly accommodating the shredder 11. The container 10 is converted into a further (collecting) container, either by removing perforated segments 18,19 to form a ventilated container (50, figure 5), or by the complete re-assembly of the container by tearing it into strips (36,46, figures 2 and 3), and assembling a 'log-cabin' style container (40, figure 4). Both containers are used for the collection and composting of shredded material from the shredder 11, and are dimensioned such that they are adapted to the dimensions of the shredder 11 in the region of its discharge opening (15, figure 5), such that they can be located beneath said discharge opening. The container 10 may comprise two containers (30,42, figure 2), one being snugly fitted inside the other, so that the total volume of the collecting container is increased relative to the original packaging container 10. Preferably the container 10 is made of waxed cardboard, and may be broken down so that it may be accepted into a charging opening of the shredder (13, figure 5), and is shredded itself.</p> |
