A heat-insulating bandage comprises one or more layers of closed cell expanded polystyrene one or more layers of absorbent material and means, e.g. adhesive tapes, for attaching the bandage to the body such that an absorbent layer is in contact with the skin. The bandage may comprise polystyrene layers between absorbent layers. The bandage may be in the form of a strip, pad, gaiter, sleeve or jacket.
