An aerosol composition comprising a propellant, and a cleaning composition which comprises 0À5 to 7À5% by weight of an alkalistable surfactant, the percentage being based on the weight of the cleaning composition, and an aqueous solution containing 2-7 %' by weight of caustic alkali. An alkali -stable organic solvent of the polyglycol type, which is preferably water soluble may also be present and the composition may also include corrosion inhibitors. Propellants mentioned include butane, propane, dichlorodifluoromethane, dichlorotetrafluoroethane, nitrous oxide, nitrogen and mixtures thereof. Many surfactants of'the nonionic or anionic type are exemplified and the preferred caustic alkali is sodium or potassium hydroxide. Corrosion inhibitors mentioned include fulry alcohol and pyrogallol. Hydrotropes such as sodium xylene sulphonate may also be included.</p> |
