PURPOSE:To obtain a gradation image of high image quality even on an image receiving material having no dyeing properties by laminating a dye-containing ink layer, a dye diffusion preventing layer composed of an aqueous material and a particle transfer layer wherein dyeing particles are dispersed in a softening transfer material on the upper surface of a sheet like substrate having heat resistance. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer sheet 1 is constituted by arranging a dye- containing ink layer 3 and a dye diffusion preventing layer 7 on the upper surface of a sheet like substrate 2 having heat resistance in this order and laminating a particle layer 6 wherein dyeing particles 4 composed of a dyeing thermoplastic resin are dispersed in a softening transfer material at least lowered in viscosity by heating on the upper surface of the dye diffusion preventing layer 7. By this constitution, for example, even when an image receiving material having no dyeing properties such as pulp paper is used, a medium contrast image of high image quality utilizing the diffusion amount of a dye can be obtained. |
