Accurate toner level feedback via active artificial intelligence

The system (10) comprises a toner sensor (30) which is an optical sensor consisting of array of emitters and detectors that measure incremental levels of toner present within a toner reservoir (31) of a printer (10). A pixel counter (52) is provided to count the number of pixels required during printing operation. A processor (36) linked with the pixel counter enables to enhance toner level characterization, based on the detected value of pixel counter.
