An immunogenic protein (DV17) from the lungworm Dictyocaulus viviparus having a protective effect is disclosed, as well as a process for isolating the same, a process for isolating the corresponding DNA sequence, the production of the protein by genetic engineering and the use of the protein in diagnostic kits and as vaccines.
