The guide and stop assembly comprises a door carriage (5) with at least one rotary roller (6,7) and a guide frame with a track (9) for the roller(s) and a pivoted ramp (19). The ramp is designed to interact with the roller(s) and is supported by a block (23) of a viscoelastic material so that in the absence of a roller it occupies a position in which it partially covers the guide track. It is also so that in a working position the ramp compresses the block as a roller passes over it. The viscoelastic material is an elastomer such as an ethylene propylene copolymer with diene modification (EPDM). The track also has an end stop (10).
