<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for dissolving waste styrene-based synthetic resin materials and an inexpensive system therefor, having a high flash point, low risk of fire or explosion, usable safely, and capable of dissolving the above materials such as expanded plastic materials at low cost in a short time to effect their volume reduction. SOLUTION: This method or system comprises the following consecutive processes: a dissolving liquor holding process 1 to hold in a dissolver a dissolving liquor prepared by mixing a stock liquor of citrus oil with several or more wt. times of water and such an additive containing at least coconut oil and fatty acid (s) as to afford the dissolvability of the citrus stock liquor to the water, a heating process 8 to heat the above dissolving liquor in the dissolver to such a temperature as to be capable of efficiently dissolving waste styrene- based synthetic resin materials in the dissolving liquor, a dissolving process 12 to charge the resin materials into the dissolving liquor heated in the process 8, and a process 13 to withdraw from the dissolver the waste resin materials dissolved in the process 12.</p> |
