FIELD: preheating dry material for production of unroasted carbon-containing masses. SUBSTANCE: preheater includes round bin-shaped housing with core and electrodes at its upper and lower ends which are connected to supply source. Fitted concentrically at upper end of housing is feed tube, other feed tube being concentrically fitted on lower end of housing. Dry material is directed to this tube by means of special device mounted rotatably in housing. Such construction provides for smooth heating of material due to homogeneous flow of mass and repair of preheater without securing the entire plant.
