A zoom lens comprising, from the object end, a positive power first lens having a convex image side surface and a negative power second lens having a curvature on a concave object side surface larger than on an image side surface, the first and second lenses being movable relative to each other to vary the focal length of the zoom lens, the zoom lens satisfying the following relations:0.05<d1/fw<0.20 -0.25<R2/fw<-0.15-0.65<R3/fw<-0.35where d1 is the axial distance between the surfaces of the first lens; fw is the focal length at the wide angle end of the whole zoom lens; R2 is the radius of curvature of the image side surface of the first lens; and R3 is the radius of curvature of the object side surface of the second lens.
