The spool carrier 7 extends from a gear casing 13 that is slidable on guides 14 to allow displacement of the spool carrier 7 in a single plane as the yarn package increases in diameter. The guides 14, and the drive shaft to the gear casing 13, are articulated to the stationary body 1 of the winding machine at 9. The inclination of the carrier 7, relatively to the body 1, can be adjusted to provide cylindrical or cone shaped packages. The guides 14 are protected by bellows 19 and the drive shaft, driven via the articulated coupling 9, is a splined drive shaft. |
