<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject new peptide consisting of a peptide having a specific amino acid sequence and exhibiting chromatophorotropic hormone inhibiting action and adrenocorticotropic hormone inhibiting action and effective for indirectly inhibiting tyrosinase activity and suppressing the synthesis of melanin pigment. SOLUTION: This new peptide is composed of the amino acid sequence expressed by the formula and exhibits chromatophorotropic hormone inhibiting action and adrenocorticotropic hormone inhibiting action. It has actions to indirectly inhibit the tyrosinase activity and stably suppress the synthesis of melanin pigment for a long period and is useful as a skin-beautifying agent of cosmetics, an agent for preventing browning of a plant (fruit, seed, etc.), an agent for keeping the freshness of crustaceans such as prawn and crab, a vermin-repelling agent, etc. The peptide can be produced by the solid-phase synthesis of peptide by fixing a C-terminal amino acid on a insoluble substrate such as crosslinked polystyrene and successively extending the desired peptide chain from the fixed amino acid with an N-α-t-butoxycarbonylated amino acid, etc., while properly eliminating the protecting groups.</p> |
