<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To separate air efficiently at a low cost by a method wherein a fixed adsorption material bed is composed of an equilibrium zone and a mass-transfer zone, and at least one kind of the adsorption material which is selective to adsorption of a highly selective adsorption component is contained in the equilibrium zone and the mass-transfer zone. SOLUTION: In an adsorption material bed 1 installed in a pressure fluctuation type adsorption (PSA) process, a pretreating zone 2, an equilibrium zone 3, and a mass transfer zone 4 are provided, and adsorption material is respectively contained in respective adsorption zones 2 to 4. For the adsorption material to be used, the adsorption material for the zones 3, 4 is selected based on heat insulation selectivity and heat insulation function capacity in temperature and composition in respective zones. The pretreatment zone 2 is for the purpose of eliminating contaminants of water, carbon, dioxide, etc., and as the adsorption material used herein, zeolite, active alumina, active carbon, etc., are exemplified. Then, principal heavy components in fed materials in the equilibrium zone 3 and the mass transfer zone 4 are eliminated by adsorption.</p> |
