PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new heterocycle-substituted pyrrole compound capable of being industrially and advantageously synthesized, manifesting precise effect and being a safely used agricultural and horticultural bactericide. SOLUTION: This heterocycle-substituted pyrrole compound is a compound of formula I [R<1> is H, a 1-6C alkoxy 1-6C alkyl, etc.; R<2> is H, a halogen cyano, carboxyl, etc.; R<2> is H, a halogen, cyano, carboxyl, etc.; R<3> is H, a halogen, nitro, etc.; X is H, a halogen, a 1-6C alkyl, a 1-6C alkoxy, etc.; (n) is an integer of 0-5; Het is 3-pyridazyl or 2-pyridazyl (substituted with a halogen)] or a salt thereof, e.g. 2-(3,5-dichlorophenyl)-3-(2-thiazolyl)-5-methylpyrrole. The compound of formula I is obtained by subjecting a compound of formula II to the action of an acid anhydride of the formula (R<2> 'CO)2 O (R<2> ' is a 1-10C alkyl, etc.) and a dehydrating agent to provide a compound of formula III, isolating the compound of formula III therefrom, and reacting a compound of the formula Het- C≡C-R<3> ' (R<3> ' is H or a 1-6C alkoxycarbonyl) with the isolated compound of formula III in the presence of a trivalent phosphorus compound.
