PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent causing a defective in polishing, by moving a buff along an external shape looking a camshaft from a side surface, and abutting on a cam top part in turn to apply polishing work. SOLUTION: In a condition where a base 16 is retreated from first and second work supporters 21a and 21b previously, the second work supporter 21b is retreated in an axial direction to a position where a camshaft 1 can be imposed between respective work supporters 21a and 21b. Then, the camshaft 1 is positioned in a phase same as that of a cam master 23 to be arranged between the respective work supporters 21a and 21b, and concurrently the work supporter 21b is advanced in the axial direction to support the camshaft 1. A base 16 is pressedly moved to the camshaft 1 side by a backup member 19, and the cam master 23 is applied polishing work by a cam follower 20, concurrently when a buff 12 is moved along an external shape looking the camshaft 1 from a side surface, to abut on a cam top part in order. |
