PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To raise productivity and molded quality by avoiding surely a harmful influence such as stop of a hydraulic pump caused by a malfunction by a method wherein an electric power amount is calculated from a discharge flow rate and a discharge pressure in operation of the hydraulic pump, and control is executed by detecting an overload. SOLUTION: For operation of a protector for a hydraulic pump 1, information related to a discharge flow rate and a discharge pressure of a hydraulic pump 2 which are outputted from a pump monitor output part 11, is given to an operation processing part 10, and an electric power amount Sm in operation of the hydraulic pump is obtained from Sm[KW]=[MPa]×Q[l/min]×1/60. Further, a state of a thermal relay 6, i.e., an ON signal indicating a power supply state in normal time, or an OFF signal indicating a power supply cut-off state in overload time is given to the operation processing part 10, and an atmospheric temperature (a detected result) detected from an atmospheric temperature sensor 7 is also given to the operation processing part 10.
